2016 Al Quoz Sprint Betting Preview

One of the most widely-anticipated contenests unfolding on Dubai World Cup day is surely the Al Quoz Sprint where you have an excellent line-up of established international superstars ready to battle it out over the toughest 5 furlongs in racing. There are a lot of different ways that this one could wind up so you can expect some fairly competitive wagering and following the market will be absolutely vital.

The betting choice right now is Ertijaal and he lines up in Sheikh Hamdan's colours – seeking his fifth local score on the bounce. He has only been out twice this year – both times in handicaps – but he was able to muster up victories with relative ease. He also demonstrated the ability to take care of a larger field and he has formed a very good relationship with his jocket Paul Hanagan.

As it currently stands, punters will find Ertijaal trading at a fairly solid price of about 10/3 with most major bookmakers but you have to wonder whether he will be able to handle some of the competition here if they truly emerge at their absolute best.

Amongst those major contenders is international superstar Sole Power who is still battling on at the age of nine years old. With well over 50 starts to his name – most of those coming in international Group 1 races – you have to respetc the talented son of Kyllachy. He was only beaten a neck on his seasonal debut in Dubai when he ran in the Group 3 Meydan Sprint. He finished in third place on the day but still deserves a lot of credit since that was a smashing way to kick thinsg off after a three month freshening.

You'll find Sole Power trading at a 13/2 margin with most major bookmakers and it's tough to forget tha he was able to win this race last year.

Sole Power last ran in Hong Kong on the International Races day and one of his vanquishers on the day was Peniaphobia who lines up in this contest as well. He was last seen in the Centenary Cup at Sha Tin and deserves respect – particularly since he was able to finish a very strong second in the race last year. You can expect many contenders looking to beat him but this one should be able to travel strongly and kick on nicely when it really counts.

Look for Peniaphobia at a price of about 7/1.
