2016 Al Quoz Sprint Betting Tips

There is a lot to like about the stellar card ahead of us at Meydan this Saturday as the richest day of thoroughbred racing in the world is finally set to unfold as a cadre of talented superstars are now in Dubai with their eyes firmly fixed on the really big prizes.

The opener on the day is the Al Quoz Sprint and there are some really solid contenders here with Marking looming as the significant favourite with a price as low as about 6/4 right now. The Godolphin charge is trained by Kieran McLaughlin and is well known in the United States for finishing second to sprint champion Runhappy in the Grade 1 Malibu Stakes.

He has been in Dubai since February of this year and he actually unseated his rider in his debut effort in the desert but was then able to spin that around the next time in a solid handicap contest the next time out a few weeks later. He was backed all the way down to a very slim 2/5 margin on the day and looked good doing it – besting a field of 10 by a solid two length margin.

Jeremy Noseda's Sloane Avenue is the second choice here in this race and he is coming in for his second start off a really long layoff and shipping over from Kempton. He had ben in Dubai last year and was able to muster up a second place finish in the Godolphin mile last year. This time he gets the cut back in distance by two furlongs and should be set to run at a pretty solid price tag with a price as high as a 7/2 margin.

One of the locally-based contenders, Cool Cowboy, is the next biggest selection and he comes into this one with plenty of momentum having just captured the Grade 3 Burj Nahaar after running in a pretty steady string of quality handicaps at Meydan. He has the advantage of being accustomed to the cliamet and will be a real contender here with his 6/1 price making him a bit of an each-way fancy for some punters.

This is going to be a dramatic step up in quality for God's Speed and he did a fair amount of running on the all weather circuitat Wolverhampton over the past couple of years before moving to Dubai and racing almost exclusively at Janadriyah racecourse over the past couple of months.

He is trading as the highest priced contender at 50/1.
