Ryder on November 21, 2016 20:27 GMTIrving will be using this race as his seasonal debut and his conections will be hoping fo ra much bigger eries of performances from him this year since he was pulle off the circuit shortly before festival time after finishing 56 lengths off the pace in the Grade 2 Kingwell Hurdle at Wincanton. Compounding that relentless disappointment was the fact tha he was sent off at an 8/11 price tag in a four horse contest on the day.

Prior to tha he finished 6/7 in the Fighting Fifth last year when going off as the 2/1 joint favourite. He had won his previous two eforts last year and looked poised to make a real impression when tackling his preferred 2m distance.
Right now punters can find Irving trading at a listing of around 7/2 which puts him right alongside the likes of Petit Mouchoir. This is a horse who has made some serious attempts at some quality races but just doesn't seem to win very often despite usually being in the reckoning. The Gigginstown House Stud-owned contender actually hasn't won since he was able to break his maiden at Thurles back in November of 2015.
He has been out once so far this year with a disappointing third place from a field of four in the Grade 2 WKD Hurdle at Down Royal back in early November.
Other notables in the mix here include My Tent or Yours at a 6/1 listing while Apples Jade can be backed at an 8/1 price tag. Hidden Cyclone can be backed at a 20/1 price tag while Top Notch is available at an identical listing. Optimus Prime is 25/1 right now while Mirsaale brings up the rear at a 40/1 margin.
