2016 Grand National Betting Tips PT 2

It will be interesting to see where the bulk of the challenge comes from in the field, not the least of which is Silviniaco Conti, who comes out of Paul Nicholls yard and will be looking to make a big impression at the Grand National over the large fences. Bookmakers are floating him around a 12 / 1 margin at the time of this writing and that price could certainly be shorter on the day, particularly if he gets the endorsement of PriceWise or any other influential typing services.

Another key contender is Kim Bailey's The Last Samurai, who is trading at a 10 / 1 margin right now according to most major bookmakers. He will be looking for his third score on the bounce and has certainly demonstrated the ability to handle a race of this magnitude. His recent victory in a class 2 handicap over The Druids Nephew stand him in good stead for this race.

Watch out for his ability to sit handy during a race like this and if he can stay out of trouble then he is more than worth the 10/1 price tag currently being floated, although you may not want to back him on an each way unless you see you drift in price.He has only been out 3 times this year and will be back in form heading into this massive clash and if he can handle the large field than the 10/1 price is certainly justified.

Holywell is another interesting Contender here although he does not have a win so far this season but you get the feeling that his connections would be more than happy if he was able to simply pull off the victory in the Grand National. He is priced as though they expect him to be a win contender and oftentimes we have horses who win the national who don't enter the race in a particularly large amount of form primarily because they have been attempting more difficult races and some of the other contenders who will be challenging this grade three contest.

It's also worth paying attention to The Druids Nephew who is getting plenty of support at a 16/1 margin and could certainly lined up as a rewarding Place back, so expect him to be a popular each-way selection.
