2016 Kentucky Derby Betting Preview PT 2

Mohaymen  had been the favorite for quite some time but was bested by Nyquist in the Florida Derby, he was made to look ordinary on the day and his prices drifted sharply from a 7/2 margin all the way up to a 9/1 margin with a number of major European books. He still has a lot of talent and the reports from Churchill Downs this week have said that he has looked very good while working out each morning.

One of the major buzz horses of the 2016 Kentucky Derby is the Louisiana Derby winner Gun Runner. He comes out of the Steve Asmussen barn and doesn't really have any major strikes against him. He has outperformed expectations in virtually all of his races and comes into the contest with plenty of 4 - he is notable because he's only making his third start off the layoff this year and could be set for major Improvement of his already impressive races.

Another horse that has proven to be very popular is Exaggerator, who is piloted by former Kentucky Derby winner Kent Desormeaux.  exaggerator is actually trained by the stormers brother Keith and this pairing looks set to make a major impression here - particularly if the race happens to be run over a wet or sloppy or surface than many are predicting. He was able to try it at a very big price in the Santa Anita Derby and could take advantage of a very hot pace here if things go his way.

Another interesting Contender is Creator, who has a lot going for him and is proving to be quite popular with many letters across the world. The real wild card in the race appears to be the Japanese entry Lani - he was able to try on in the UAE Derby when set off at 8:12 to 1 margin on the day - his relatively unorthodox training methods and excitable appearance on the racetrack have led many to say that he has no real chance to win however his connections appear to know what they're doing and he could be set to run at a very good price of round 33/1.
