This type of specialist distance often means that we have horses who make attempts at the race a few times in their career and that certainly adds an element of spice to things – this year is no different.

We have last years winner coming back for the race looking like he has every chance of securing another massive victory here and his two outings so far this season indicate that he's going to be in prime form heading into this contest at Royal Ascot.
Order of St George was able to secure a three length victory over Mizzou last year when securing the race as the 10/11 favourite with Ryan Moore in the irons. It was his second run off the freshening and its notable that he comes into the race this time with two races under his belt already – the first one a losing effort at Navan in a Group 3 where winning the race certainly didn't seem to be the overall goal for him.
He was sent off at a 2/7 margin on the day and then followed that up with a victory at Leop[ardstown in a fairly bland listed race where he got the best of Twilight Payment. It's worth noting his form line for the race that declares he was on hands and heels coming into the final furlong so clearly has not been asked for much so far this season.
Those assuming that Order of St George is going to be able to come into a relatively weak version of the race and take off with things at his specialist distance are going to be rewarded at a relatively solid ante post price of about 6/4 and that's not really too far off in the distance to make it a prohitively short wager but the fact remains that he will probably be odds-on or shorter on the day of the actual race – a certainly if he makes a good pre-race appearance.
