The big name coming in this year has been the exciting contender Bolt D’Oro who has laid down a number of really solid efforts over this year and is widely-considered to be America’s top juvenile colt. There is a lot to like about his ability and his connections are coming into the race full of confidence.
The bookmakers appear to be believers in his ability as well and you will find him available at a price of around 6/4 with a number of top European bookmakers. You can actually expect that price to shorten up considerably when we get to the non-runner no bet stage of the wagering markets later on next week.
A few books have gone as short as an even money price on the talented colt and we could very well see him hammered into odds-on once the Breeders’ Cup actually rolls around - particularly if we see Bolt D’Oro put in a very impressive pre-race appearance.
The Juvenile can sometimes be a very tricky race to bet because, like many top two year old races, these horses are all at different stages of development and sometimes if they’ve had a month or two off prior to the Breeders’ Cup you can see them emerge as much bigger, stronger animals once they get back to the track for their race.
