2017 Breeders’ Cup Turf Betting Tips
- By A.J. Ryder on October 16, 2017 18:05 GMTWe are just a few weeks out from the widely-anticipated Breeders’ Cup at Del Mar Thoroughbred Club in San Diego. There are plenty of thoroughbred racing fans from all over the world anxiously awaiting the clashes at this major event and one of the biggest races each year for the International fans is always the Breeders’ Cup Turf race.
This year we have several talented top contenders lining up to take on the best in the world here. You’ll find Ulysses trading as the outright favourite right now with most major bookmakers pricing him at around a 3/1 margin.
The biggest challenge to Ulysses - who has put in a number of really good runs this past season - appears to be coming from international globetrotting superstar Highland Reel. The Ballydoyle contender has a lot of fans in every corner of the globe and he was able to pull off a victory in this exact same race last year at Santa Anita.
He’s priced very competitively in the ante post markets and you’ll find him right now trading at about a 4/1 listing and it’s worth keeping your eyes peeled on him as his price shifts around in the build up to the race.
Cracksman looks to be another top contender who is coming over from the UK and he has plenty of fans and looms large at a price that can be backed as high as a 13/2 listing. It’s going to be interesting how he trains up to the race but there is plenty of opportunity for him to move forward based off of his ability to quicken at just the right time.
Beach Patrol is probably the best North American fancy and you’ll find him available at a tempting price of 10/1.
