2017 Breeders Cup Classic Betting Preview PT 2
- By A.J. Frequently finishing behind or near Arrogate in a number of top two-turn races in the last year or so, Gun Runner recently captured the Whitney Handicap at Saratoga and looked really good doing it.

This, in turn with Arrogate’s shocking run of losses, has seen him drop as low as a 2/1 margin with a few different bookmakers - effectively making him the one to watch going forward.
Gun Runner boasts an exciting turn of foot and has plenty of grit that tends to see him finish races really well. No longer playing second fiddle to the Juddmonte-owned son of Unbridled’s Song, you can firmly expect Gun Runner to put together at least one more really good performance prior to the 2017 Breeders’ Cup Classic at Del Mar.
Collected was the big winner yesterday and he is getting plenty of action from the bookmakers as well with a price hovering anywhere between a 5/1 and an 7/1 price tag. Having proven himself over the surface at Del Mar it looks like he has plenty of ability there and that’s going to stand him in very good stead going forward as we get closer to the race.
Classic Empire is trading at a 14/1 margin right now and deserves some respect as we get closer to the race and it’s also worth keeping your eye on Keen Ice - who can be backed as high as 20/1 and could certainly be a higher price on the day at Del Mar. His connections have a history of winning big races there and it would certainly be interesting to see him run well.
Other notables include Tapwrit as high as 40/1, Mor Spirit at 20/1 and Cloud Computing priced as high as 50/1 for the Classic.
