2018 Al Quoz Sprint Betting Preview
- By A.J. Ryder on March 28, 2018 14:30 GMTThere is a lot to like about this year’s upcoming Al Quoz Sprint which is one of the most interesting contests that is expected to unfold on the Dubai World Cup undercard. This one is typically a very straightforward affair with not a whole lot of ground available in this short race to correct any mistakes made by a contender during the break.
The odds on favourite this year appears to be the likes of Blue Point, who lines up for Godolphin under the tutelage of Charlie Appleby. He has only been out once so far this carnival season and he was able to muster up a second place finish in the Meydan Sprint.
While he has never actually been able to win a Group 1 race, he has been right in the mix a number of times and has captured an assortment of Group 3 contests over the years. His running style suits this type of race and competition and you can bank on him putting in a good performance.
Jungle Cat looms as his second largest competitor here and he was able to finish fourth place in this same race last year. He deserves respect and comes into the race with a fair amount of momentum and has remained undefeated in his two races at the carnival last year.
His victory in the Al Fahidi Fort, which is a Group 2 encounter, was especially interesting and you can bank on that quality coming forward into this massive Group 1 race. He followed up the Al Fahidi Fort victory with a win in the a conditions race but was able to dispose of 16 rivals over a relatively short distance and you know that bodes well for his chances.
