2018 Champion Hurdle Preview PT 2

There are only a few genuine contenders here that the bookmakers and the punters seem to believe are capable of getting the job done and potentially pulling off a strong reverse against Buveur D’Air. You’ll find some big names on display here and there could be more than a few savvy punters who get stuck in on any of these selections, particularly if they make a really good pre-race appearance.

Faugheen is trading as the outright challenger here with a solid price of about 5/1 and Faugheen was widely viewed as a nearly unbeatable star over the past couple of years but went off the boil a bit last time out and now has it all to prove coming up against the hot contender in Buveur D’Air.

A few bookmakers go as high as a 7/1 price tag right now for Faugheen to get the victory but you get the feeling those odds will only decline as we get closer and closer to the race.

My Tent Or Yours is right in the mix and heads towards each-way territory for some as a few bookmakers have him available at a tempting 10/1 price tag. The majority have him floated at a 9/1 margin. It’s also worth taking a look at the talented Yorkhill who has shown plenty of promise at Cheltenham and could really make an impression here.

The odds then take a bit of a jump to Elgin who can be backed in the 16/1 - 20/1 range right now while you’ll also be able to track down a price of about 20/1 on Wicklow Brave. Melon gets into the mix with a price of around 22/1 while Min can be backed as high as 25/1 but is likely pointed towards other races.

Faugheen leads the Betting W/O market with a price hovering around a 7/4 margin right now at the outset.
