2018 Cheltenham Gold Cup Betting Tips PT 2

He got the season started off with a simple victory in a listed contest at Sandown back in November, using that as a prep for the 2017 King George - which he was able to scoop with a great performance, driven out in the last to capture the silverware at a solid price of 6/4.

There is a lot to like about his chances again this time around and he’ll be looking to be one of those National Hunt stars that make the big step up from the RSA Novices Chase to take on the Gold Cup in their first time of asking. You can assume that plenty of punters are taking a long look at Might Bite, but there remains plenty of other solid options out there if you’re willing to do your homework and find a potential challenger.

The next shortest price in the Cheltenham Gold Cup goes to the talented Native River and you can find him trading around a 13/2 price tag with a number of major bookmakers. He’s another very lightly-raced sort with only a single effort so far this season - a winning run against a field of 3 in the Grade 2 Denman Chase where he was able to score relatively easily.

Last year he was able to muster up a third place finish in the big contest at Cheltenham and his Gold Cup effort stands him in good stead for this one as he will be coming in fresh and was able to prove in his last effort that he’s really not lost a step at all.

A few bookmakers have him trading as low as a 5/1 price tag and that’s not a bad range but it’s definitely worth keeping your eye on Native River as the ante post market has shifted into Non Runner No Bet and that has seen prices drop slightly over the past few weeks.
