Native River remains a fairly primary contender for the Cheltenham Gold Cup and is among a tight pack of three contenders who are all trading at interchangable prices to win the big race. All of them deserve respect but Native River appears to be the slight favourite amongst them and now trades as the third best priced option in the Cheltenham Gold Cup ante post market.

This one is definitely a bit more of a wildcard than some of the others because he’s not actually had a run yet this year and appears to be pointed exclusively at the Cheltenham Gold Cup and the rest of the festival season, continuing on at Aintree and Punchestown.

Coney Island is another talented Irish jumper who deserves a whole lot of respect and he is taking a step up onto this circuit after proving his worth last year when he was able to triumph in a Grade 1 contest in his native country. There is plenty to like about his ability but you have to wonder whether he will really be able to kick on and get some results here against much more proven competition.
