2018 Dubai World Cup Wagering Preview
- By A.J. There is, as always, a large cadre of Americans set to contest this one and the big favourite coming into the race is trained by none other than Bob Baffert - who seemingly wins the race every year.
This year, the Breeders’ Cup runner up West Coast is going to be the big story coming into the contest and he’s already been beaten down to an odds-on price in the ante post market.
This stands him in a very good position and if he runs anything like Arrogate did last year, seemingly in his last really big effort, then you can expect him to win the race quite easily.
It’s never quite that simple though and you can expect some tough competition here from a number of top contenders such as Talismanic and Forever Unbridled - both of whom definitely have the ability to win the race if they are able to stay focused and are able to break well from the gates coming out.
North America is an interesting option - more so since he’s not actually based in North America - while Gunnevera looks like a really interesting outside contender here but many think that this one might just be a step too far for him.
You can also expect Dubai stalwart Thunder Snow to make an impression here as well and you can expect that the locals will be out in full voice to support their popular local runner.
