2018 Pegasus World Cup Betting Preview

There are only a few horses in the market so far out of the upcoming Pegasus World Cup - the World’s richest horse race - and you can also expect a few more interesting market moves as we get more horses drawing into the race for the big $16,000,000 purse that will be on offer this year in the nine furlong race that unfolds at Gulfstream Park.

Gun Runner was able to put together a great finish in the 2017 Breeders’ Cup Classic to get the better of Arrogate and a number of other top competitors. He comes into the Pegasus World Cup with a solid ante post price out there of ⅚ at the time of this writing.

There is every chance he goes off shorter on the day unless we see a few more big entrants come into contention for this nine furlong race.

West Coast was a popular option for many during the Breeders’ Cup Classic and his third place finish was still a valuable one for his connections. Expect him to kick on here as he ages into the end of his three-year-old season. Look for him around a 6/1 margin right now.

Second place Breeders’ Cup Classic finisher Collected also deserves some praise and he comes into the contest with a really solid price of around 7/1 - one that is expected to drop as we get closer to the contest.

Forever Unbridled is a really interesting option here and looks good with an ante post price of about 12/1 while Gunnevera sits at 16/1 and the talented sprinter Sharp Azteca is an option to stretch out here with a price of around 25/1 right now.
