2019 Breeders Cup Classic Ante Post Update PT 1

The portrait of the de facto world championships in November is starting to change as well and you can bank on plenty of interesting happenings between now and then.

The ante post market for the 2019 Breeders’ Cup Classic sits in favour of Bob Baffert’s McKinzie right now and he looks likely to build on his impressive resume with a race in the Awesome Again and then training up to the big race. 

The bookmakers have McKinzie priced around a 6/1 margin right now and he was trading as the considerable favourite for quite some time but now it appears as though the bookmakers think he’s ready to face a stiff challenge in taking on Code of Honor, who was able to capture the 2019 Travers Stakes at Saratoga with an impressive performance today. 

He was available around a 16/1 margin prior to the race and now he has been more than halved into a list of around 7/1 or 13/2 depending on whom you’re wagering with. The Woodford Racing contender has a lot of tactical speed and was able to power past both Tacitus and Mucho Gusto in a race that will likely live long in the memory. 

Maximum Security is still considered to be a leading contender for the 2019 Breeders’ Cup Classic and he’s trading at a best price of around 8/1 but he looks like he may have to find more based on his most recent performances. Tacitus has also seen his odds drift significantly.
