2019 Cheltenham Gold Cup Ante Post PT 1
- By A.J. Ryder on October 24, 2018 13:47 GMTThe National Hunt season is just getting underway right now with Champions Day and the flat season behind us. There is a lot of excitement in store happening over the jumps in the next couple of months and eyes are already starting to turn towards Festival time and the Cheltenham Ante Post markets are already starting to see some action.
Right now it looks like an absolute toss-up in regards to figuring out who’s going to be able to conquer the 3m2f championship decider over the new course in March.
Plenty of observers believe that it’s going to be one of the higher profile selections that we have seen running over the last two or three years at the festival and, at this moment in time, you’ll find that Presenting Percy is getting the nod from the bookmakers with a price in the mid-single digits currently being floated as the best possible price tag.
It looks like he’s locked into a tough battle with Might Bite right now and some bookmakers actually have him priced a bit lower than Presenting Percy so it’s going to be obvious that there are plenty of interesting options here.
One of the key factors is timing an ante post wager at the right time - preferably prior to them contesting some of the bigger races on the National Hunt circuit. You can expect plenty of odds swings during that process and it’s pretty clear that there will be more than a few great opportunities as they are both expecting to race a few times over the season.
