2019 Pegasus World Cup Betting Update PT 1
- By A.J. Ryder on December 27, 2018 18:06 GMTThings are starting to get especially exciting for one of the next big International flat races as the Pegasus World Cup unfolds at Gulfstream Park in Miami in just a couple of weeks. Plenty of interesting betting options are out there but the race is dominated by a high-profile Contender who is coming off of victory in the de-facto world championships of horse racing.
Accelerate was able to produce a performance for the ages as he capped off a fantastic 2018 season in the United States. Is incredible run at Churchill Downs saw him put together one of the best pieces of work he's had, even though the speed figure rating for the contest doesn't rank amongst his highest, it was still a great performance.
He already has a stud deal set up at Lane's end farm in Kentucky and his main rival is also set to stand there once he wraps up his season as well, with City of Light proving to be the number one Challenger to accelerate Crown as the best flat horse in North America.
The bookmakers think that accelerate is the definite betting choice for this one and his price is trading at just under a 2/1 margin for the victory and it's going to be interesting to see what his odds actually wind up being on the day when they run at Gulfstream Park.
Accelerate is expected to be piloted by his new stand and jockey Joel Rosario who has plenty of skill and currently ranking as one of the top jockeys in the United States. Previously the horse had been piloted by Victor Espinoza who is still recovering from a very serious injury that he suffered in training Del Mar back in the summer.
