2020 Breeders Cup Classic Betting
- By A.J. Ryder on March 21, 2020 18:12 GMTThe world’s eyes are firmly fixed on horse racing right now because it ranks as one of the only sports still running globally. At this point in time, many American tracks are continuing to run while being behind closed doors while racing continues in Dubai and Ireland at the moment.
There is a lot of interesting things happening in American racing right now but you’ll find that the main question marks aside from Coronavirus is how the recent arrests of the trainers Jorge Navarro and Jason Servis will affect things going forward. Servis was the trainer of Maximum Security and he was found to have been using an illegal and untestable substance on the horse over the past year and a half.
The fact that he ran initially in a $16,000 claiming race now makes a lot more sense and his disqualification in the Kentucky Derby now looks like it may be a blessing to the racing public.
As far as the Breeders’ Cup Classic goes, Maximum Security (who remains in training) is looming as the significant favourite for the race with the ante post price being floated around a 5/1 listing. There are question marks over whether he will even be running by the time November rolls around and the fact remains that we have not seen him run when he wasn’t on the banned substance that Servis had him on.
The odds then take a significant jump to 16/1 for the likes of Godolphin’s Benbatl who is coming into the Dubai World Cup as the significant betting favourite. Mucho Gusto, who has been running against Maximum Security for quite some time, also looms as a 16/1 shout for the Breeders’ Cup Classic.

McKinzie is trading around a 16/1 to 20/1 price tag with several top bookmakers but he has proved himself to be a horse who excels up to nine furlongs but can’t maintain his world class form when run at ten furlongs. There are a few three-year-olds who are in the mix for the Kentucky Derby who could make an impression as well and Tiz The Law sits around a 25/1 margin while recent superstar Nadal sits around 25/1 as well.
