2020 Kentucky Derby Ante Post Betting

It’s never too early to start looking towards the next big American classic race coming up in 2020 and that’s the Kentucky Derby. Hopefully this year’s iteration of the race will be fraught with a little less drama than the last one when Maximum Security was DQ’d after causing interference when leading on the far turn - resulting in Country House being the first horse ever to win the Kentucky Derby by disqualification.

While the road to the Kentucky Derby is a long one that requires qualification through a points system by winning various races, the contests sending horses to the run for the roses have already begun.

Already, a few contenders have begun to stamp their names on their intentions for next year’s Triple Crown season and we have had a few of them break out recently in a big way.

As it currently stands right now, punters will find that the bookmakers seem to fancy Tiz The Law, who is the only contender trading anywhere below a 20/1 price tag with a few going as low as 16s on him. There is a whole slew of contenders all hovering around the 20/1 to 25/1 mark and a few Breeders’ Cup Juvenile race winners have already stamped their intentions on the Run for the Roses next year.

Contenders such as Eight Rings, Structor and Dennis’ Moment are all right in the mix with prices hovering around a 25/1 listing with several top bookmakers right now. You’ll already have a few punters taking a look at the $2,000,000 Tapit colt Chestertown who recently broke his maiden at Aqueduct and will be looking to follow that up with a win in a stake since it looks like he definitely wants more ground.
