There is every chance to think that Baffert will have her fit and ready for this one and, though she likely has the talent to take on much of the male division, they would want to avoid Tiz The Law in the Derby.

It’s safe to say that both Gamine, and her other main rival Swiss Skydiver, both look to have clear paths into the Oaks though it wouldn’t be a stretch at all to think they can win the Derby itself.
Swiss Skydiver put in a really solid performance at Saratoga in the Alabama Stakes at the weekend and it wasn’t just the victory, but the manner of her victory, that has racing pundits thinking she just might have enough to do away with Bob Baffert’s talented Gamine. Kenny McPeek conditions her and it appears as though she will have every chance once they reach the starting gate on the first Friday in September.
Right now, the bookmakers are pricing Swiss Skydiver at a solid listing of around 4/1 which is probably longer than she is going to be on the day, as many will be trying to beat Gamine if she winds up going off at an odds-on price.
There are a few other interesting contenders in the mix such as Speech at 15/2 while Finite sits at 8/1 and Donna Veloce can be backed around a 12/1 price. Spice is Nice is considered to be a talented contender as well and at a 16/1 price tag she looks a decent each-way shout.
