Ryder on March 19, 2021 18:16 GMTHis vanquisher this year was Chantry House in the Marsh Novices Chase and both of these contenders are expected to come on over the off-season and produce another big series of displays during the 2021/22 National Hunt season. Crashing out on the fourth fence was an obvious disappointment for connections and Nico De Boinville was the true beneficiary as he guided home the 9/1 shout to a big festival victory.

It sets him up really well over the next few months and the punters backing him in the ante post markets will likely see him point to the King George if he’s healthy and the 14/1 listing on offer is a tidy price by any means.
A Plus Tard is also in the mix at 14s for the King George and there are few who would think he won’t be contesting the race if he is healthy and able to head to Kempton on Boxing Day. His second place finish to Minella Indo was definitely a disappointment to punters that had backed him but he will likely emerge a stronger horse for the run.
Al Boum Photo was a third place finisher in this year’s Gold Cup and many expected him to be sent off as the betting favourite in the race. He was well-backed but simply couldn’t pull off the type of run that he truly needed. He will be better for the experience but his 20/1 price in the King George could serve as a caution to some at this stage.
Other notables include Champ at 20/1, Kemboy at 25/1 and Clan Des Obeaux at a 16/1 margin.
