It appears as though Golden Horde is the betting favourite according to the bookmakers and you can bank on him likely going off as the punters choice on the day. He’ll be building up momentum following his return back to the races when he landed the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot to secure the first Group 1 victory of his career.

Prior to that, Golden Horde’s key win was his effort in the Group 2 Qatar Richmond Stakes at Glorious Goodwood. It’s also worth noting he was only beaten a neck in his seasonal bow for 2019 when he was just behind Earthlight as they hit the line and he was, notably, sent off at 16/1 for that effort.

The ante post price for Golden Horde sits around 5/2 with a couple of firms going as high as an 11/4 listing.

Sceptical is considered to be the bookmakers second favourite contender for the July Cup and you’ll find them expecting him to improve on his third place finish in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes, where he was eventually sent off as the slim 2/1 favourite.

He was victorious in his first race of the year, a listed stake at Naas where he got the better of a field of 11 by a three length margin. He’s sitting at a price anywhere between 7/2 and 9/2 according to the bookmakers.

A few other notables in the race include Hello Youmzain, who was victorious in his race at Royal Ascot in the aforementioned Diamond Jubilee Stakes. This is a horse who has plenty of talent and clearly excels at the six furlong distance that they will be contesting here. Threat is another interesting option in here and he’s floated around a 10/1 ante post price, making him an interesting each-way option.
