2021 Breeders Cup Turf Betting Preview PT 3

There has been a serious trend of top level females dominating mixed company at the Breeders’ Cup - Zenyatta will certainly have a thing or two to say about that. Love has a very similar series of declarations to Mishriff with the only exception being the entry to the Darley Yorkshire Oaks.

Tarnawa is available at a 5/1 listing as well and while she is still without a run this season, there is every reason to think that the undefeated 2020 record could be replicated if she is able to get back on course and make a real impression during a prep race or two.

The 5/1 listing is probably a little bit too short for many but you can probably expect a higher price on the day at Del Mar should she wind up going into the gate. A lot of contenders from the United States will probably take a bit too much money so it’s worth holding off on Tarnawa since she could emerge as the forgotten entity.

Without a run this season, she will need to be supplemented into the BC Turf so keep your eyes peeled to racing media - though her price likely won’t change too much with a declaration.

St Marks Basilica is a really solid entry who has been putting together a solid volume of work this season. The 6/1 listing being floated by the bookmakers right now looks appealing and it will be fascinating to see just what price he winds up going into the gate being listed at.

The interesting appeal to St Marks Basilica might be that the Arc may not suit him nearly as much as a run on firmer ground in California and depending on the contingent that comes over from Europe - he could be considered a steal at a 6/1 ante post price.
