2021 Cheltenham Supreme Novices Hurdle Betting PT 1

With the Cheltenham Festival right around the corner, plenty of punters are already beginning to take a serious look at the ante post markets now that many contenders have had their final preps prior to the big meeting in March. With a number of interesting runners already setting their sights on the first day’s races, many bookmakers are already going Non Runner No Bet on many of these markets so price that accordingly.

Undefeated this season and only as bad as second in the bumper last year, we have the punters choice Appreciate It at the top of the market and you’ll find him trading at a 7/4 best price with most major bookmakers. The Willy Mullins charge has been out three times this season and has looked good each time out with a pair of Grade 1 scores at Leopardstown.

He kept on strongly at the end in each of those contests and was able to capture the first graded victory by an impressive nine length margin. Look for him to be one to watch in the future if he can build on this great run of form at Cheltenham in a few weeks.

Harry Fry’s exciting Metier has had a similar type of season as Appreciate It with three undefeated outings and a few nice Grade 1 scores in important prep races for the novice hurdle circuit. His victories at Sandown and Ascot caught the eye significantly and his Sandown score in late January was by a whopping 12 length margin.

He’ll be looking to build on that jumping prowess in the Supreme Novices and it’s worth noting that he does have an entry on Saturday in the Betfair Hurdle where he’s priced at a 7/1 margin. Should he pull off the victory in that contest he’ll be a significantly shorter price for Cheltenham than his 13/2 would suggest right now.
