There's plenty of international superstars pointed towards the race and the fact that the Saudi Cup attracts contenders just a month before the Meydan showpiece means a deeper field than usual.

It is the Saudi Cup winner Mishriff that has now etched himself in as the ante post favourite to win the Dubai World Cup and deliver another massive payday for his owners. 

He was sent off as the 8/1 third choice on the day at Riyadh and was able to take full advantage of a pace meltdown between the two American fancies Knicks Go and Charlatan. The pair of contenders took off and looked quite a few lengths ahead of the competition but the lengthy (and tiring) stretch at Riyadh proved to be too much for them with Mishriff getting first run and looming large in the final furlong. 

The bookmakers have him trading at a 7/2 price tag for the Dubai World Cup and his relatively decent price means that there will probably be a few who take him but others will likely be looking for his board price on the day. 

With a good bit of distance between the two races, there is a chance that he may not actually be fit to run and with a relatively short price it may be enough to put some off of him unless he comes in around a 5/1 listing.
