A number of solid contenders are set to run and you can see that St Mark’s Basilica is definitely going to take the bulk of the action if the bookmakers are to be believed.
As it currently stands, St Mark’s Basilica can be backed at a best price of ⅚ with most major bookmakers with some even going as short as 4/6. He has shown that he has the ability to handle course and distance so there is little reason to expect him to take a step backwards as he has been pointed at the race for quite some time now.
Tarnawa is an important challenger here and the price of around 11/4 looks about right to many of the ante post punters. It will be interesting to see what odds he actually comes out of the gates on the day. Should he make a fantastic pre-race appearance his price could drop significantly.
Poetic Flare is an interesting third choice option with a solid price of around 4/1. That might seem a bit low to some, but you reckon that he could be poised to capitalize should St Mark’s Basilica not run to his true efforts.
Mishriff is a big option here at a solid price of around 8/1 while Love is always a wild card with a very enticing 12/1 that makes her a solid each-way shout.
