His stablemate Concert Tour was withdrawn from contention for the Derby and many thought that he would have gone off amongst the top three favourites if he wound up in the gate on May 1st.

He enters the Preakness ante post market at a price of around 3/1 with several top bookmakers and he could even go off shorter on the day if he is making a very nice pre-race appearance. You’ll find him priced right alongside Mandaloun who can be backed around a 3/1 margin - you might find better value on him during the race itself.
Caddo River was another high-profile contender that didn’t make it into the gates on Derby day and he’s been pointed here for some time so should be fresh for his effort at Pimlico. The bookmakers seem to think he’s dangerous and they are pricing him at a 7/1 margin right now.
The fifth place finisher O Besos is trading around an 8/1 ante post price but will likely be higher on the day at Pimlico. Essential Quality’s connections have chosen to opt for the Belmont Stakes and he looks set to relish the additional two furlongs he will have to work with in that race.
One to keep your eye on is Ram, who is trading at a 66/1 price tag in the ante post market right now and that makes him a dangerous each-way bet, particularly if you can find a book paying out four places on the each-way.
Other notable contenders include the likes of Tarantino and Crowded Trade, both at 16s while Rombauer was a late withdrawal from the Derby and could be poised to make an impression at Pimlico.
