All-Weather Scoop6 Awaits on Saturday

With a distinct lack of jumps action on Saturday it looks like Scoop6 punters will be forced to navigate another all-weather card. It's certainly a bit of a different game handicapping 20-odd geldings going 2m4f over timber compared to eight or nine sellers going one-turn. We do have an advantage here with no fields larger than ten and when you throw in a few last minute withdrawals, you have a jackpot that looks distinctly winnable.

The Scoop6 opener begins with listed action going 1m2f. FINAL DRIVE (Viking Ruler) ships back from a score at Wolverhampton and isn't exactly setting the world alight with his ratings but has been the picture of all-weather consistency with a whopping 7 runs since the start of November. He's been 3211131 and will be looking to deploy his trademark tactical speed against the likes of established listed contenders Chapter and Verse (One Cool Cat) and Suits Me (Bertolini). This is his first crack at the listed circuit but he's been sharp and hardly concedes any weight.

The second leg is a 6f handicap that features eight runners vying for this one. Everymanforhimself (Fasliyev) will definitely take some money based on two solid place finishes in his last two run at Lingfield. BONNIE PRINCE BLUE (Tipsy Creek) gets the nod at the end of the day based on proven form at Southwell in all of his recent runnings.

We're back to Lingfield in the third leg of the Scoop6 and BENHEGO looks set to get things back on track against a relatively forgettable handicap. The jockey switch back to George Baker is a positive reference and it's worth keeping your eye on Pelham Crescent (Giant's Causeway) as well.

SALEROSA (Monashee Mountain) has really taken to the all-weather at Southwell and the five year-old bay has shown her best career form over this course. She was a beaten fourth last time out when sent off at 11/1 but she was held up for too long in the back so you're tempted to look at the previous race where she scored having tracked the leaders. Connections will have learned from the mistake last time and it should be noted that she received a career-high OR despite finishing off the board.

This Div I handicap isn't exactly the classiest race you'll ever see but it still presents an interesting puzzle for punters who expect to be live in the fifth leg. DESERT STRIKE (Bertolini) is a 5f specialist and he ships in to Lingfield off some credible efforts at Southwell and Kempton. This one will likely come down to him and the twelve year-old warhorse Fromsong (Fayuz). He's run an incredible 124 times in his decade-long career and he was a very credible second place last time out.

A bit of an ugly race to close things down as the sixth leg sees a gaggle of relatively underperforming handicappers going 6f. Only CAPE OF STORMS (Cape Cross) comes into this one off a victory and that was in a Div I race, but the seven year-old gelding acquitted himself well enough to get the nod here. You may want to opt for Sir Louis (Compton Place) who finished second to Cape of Storms in that same race when sent off at a solid 9/1. He was in the mix all the way and he could flourish if things on the ground are more soft than standard.
