Punters can cash in a very generous bonus with title sponsors Betfred on the upcoming Temple Stakes at Haydock this weekend. It looks like a straight up shoot out between Bated Breath and Sole Power with Bated Breath appearing to just get the nod from most major bookmakers.

There's a lot to like about this race and the high-quality line-up of contenders should add some spice to things as there are more than a few here who could spring a surprise at generous odds.
Bated Breath hasn't won since last may when conquering a 17K race at Windsor to complete what was then a Windsor/Haydock double. The previous Haydock win was a conditions stakes score and it's been a bit of a disappointing ride since then with a number of very close second place finishes. Over three second places in the past year, Bated Breath has only lost by a combined 3/4 lengths and a nose.
Unraced since an ambitious start at Sha Tin in the Hong Kong Sprint Cup, he'll be looking to kick on here and represent Juddmonte nicely.
Sole Power is a bit of a similar story and he hasn't won since last May either although his victory was in the 2011 iteration of the Temple Stakes. Back to defend his crown here, punters will find the five-year-old son of Kyllachy with a few races under his belt from a brief stint at Meydan where he finished second on both occasions, at one point just losing out by a short head to Invincible Ash.
Other notables set to contest this race include the respected runner Prohibit and you'll find him anywhere from 10/1 to 12/1 while Borderlescott is also in the mix for this one with a considerable variance in price of 16/1 all the way up to 25/1.
Tangerine Trees looks to be an interesting selection here and he should prove popular with a listing as high as 8/1.
