It’s going to be interesting to see what happens during the build-up as Santa Anita has been the center of a lot of controversy over the past couple of months.

While many are questioning the safety of the track itself, the fact remains that a number of talented international runners are expected to show up and contest this big two day event.
One of the biggest pieces of news over the past couple of days has been in the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile - which is a controversial race in the sense that many think it pulls good horses out of the Classic to search for an easier payday.
Many had assumed that Omaha Beach would contest the Classic but his connections have made it known that they are pursuing the Dirt Mile for the talented War Front colt and that has thrown the market for the race upside down as a few horses now may defect to the Sprint.
Right now, the best price you’ll find on Omaha Beach is a 9/5 listing while McKinzie remains double-entered in this race and the Classic - where is currently considered to be the outright favourite ahead of Code of Honor in that contest. Mitole is also considered to be a major player in the Breeders’ Cup Sprint but he also boasts an entry to the Dirt Mile and trades as a 6/1 outsider.
