This year has seen a very disrupted Triple Crown calendar that has produced a really exciting group of three-year-olds - not the least among them to be the emerging superstar filly Swiss Skydiver who is trained by Kenny McPeek and recently scooped the third leg of the Triple Crown by beating Bob Baffert’s Authentic to the wire at Pimlico.

The Classic now stands as the final test for these young stars as they begin to take on older colts and geldings from a handicap division that is lacking starpower compared to this three-year-old crop.

Taking a look at the ante post markets offered in Europe definitely shines some light on the race and the bookmakers seem to be convinced that Improbable stands as the toughest horse to beat entering the Classic but the price appears to be lukewarm with a listing of around 4/1 being floated as the best possible price on Bob Baffert’s charge.

Tiz The Law had previously emerged as what looked to be the top horse but he was soundly beaten in the Preakness by Authentic who appears to genuinely relish the 1m2f distance on offer that day. His connections from New York have been a great story to follow for most of this year and many expect that skipping the Preakness would play to Tiz The Law’s favour in a big way.
