Hong Kong International Ante Post Preview PT 1

There are some really solid contests set to unfold in Asia in the coming weeks as both the Japan Cup and the Hong Kong International Races are drawing plenty of attention. The big runners from Asia are benefitting from a lack of big-time racing in North America and Europe now that we are past the Breeders’ Cup season and the Arc as well.

It appears as though Almond Eye is coming in as the big beneficiary of his placement in the Hong Kong Cup and the bookmakers have him trading at an odds-on price for the victory. 

As it currently stands, you’ll find him available around a ⅗ margin in the ante post markets with several top bookmakers. He faces some competition from a handful of other horses but only 2 or 3 are available at a single digit price to get the result here and spring an upset.

You’ll find that Danon Kingly and Waikuku are the main challengers here and both are available around an 8/1 margin and that makes them interesting each-way wagers as well. Furore can be backed around 10/1 while Southern Legend is available around a general 11/1. 

Circus Maximus is in the mix here as well with a price tag of around 12/1 and you can bank on him being able to make a serious step forward in this contest and his running style will likely have him well-poised to capitalize on any mistakes that are made by Almond Eye in this one.
