King George VI Chase Betting Update
- By A.J. Ryder on December 19, 2017 18:54 GMTHeading towards the Christmas period we all know that the National Hunt sees one of its most major contests as the King George VI Chase is about to unfold. This year’s iteration of the 3m chase at Kempton will see a few of the best contenders taking each other on over fences and punters everywhere will be staking a bit of Christmas money on this big contest.
There is a lot to like about how it’s all shaping up this year with a fairly discernable favourite in Might Bite being lined up by the bookmakers at a price of around 6/4 right now.
A few books have floated Might Bite as low as a 5/4 margin for the King George VI Chase and you’ll have to keep your eye firmly fixed on the market during the build-up to Boxing Day as many observers are also keeping an eye on the long-term forecast for the day.
His chief competitor seems to be the stand out contender Bristol Du Mei who absolutely romped last time out and deserves a lot of respect coming into this big fixture. Right now, you’ll find him trading around a 7/2 price with a couple of bookmakers going as high as a 4/1 margin.
Thistlecrack also deserves a lot of respect here and you’ll find him priced at a 13/2 margin with the majority of bookmakers while a couple of them have floated the talented jumper at 11/2. It’s going to be very much worth keeping your eye on him as if he drifts up to 7s that’s going to be a solid each-way opportunity for a lot of punters on the day.
Fox Norton is the only other contender floated at a single-digit price with a listing of around 7/1 right now with the odds then taking a pretty solid jump up to a 10/1 margin for the likes of Whisper.
