- By A.J. Ryder on July 17, 2020 15:58 GMTAscot once again plays host to some of the most exciting flat racing action with the upcoming King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes set to unfold as another chapter will be written in this lengthy story featuring Enable - a true international superstar. The Juddmonte-bred mare was defeated on her seasonal debut in the Coral Eclipse but will not have to deal with Ghaiyyath this time around.

The bookmakers still appear to have plenty of confidence in Enable’s ability to get the job done here and you’ll find that her ante post price is hovering anywhere between an 11/10 margin all the way up to a 6/4 listing.
She’s won the race twice before and would be no surprise to see her romp home once again up the hill at Ascot. With that previous race under her belt she is likely to come into the contest more fit and a recent interview with her condition John Gosden has shown that the desire was definitely there and she should be able to kick on once again.
Aidan O’Brien’s charge Magical is back to take on Enable once again and she was able to get the victory in her seasonal debut when she captured the Pretty Polly Stakes. Having been beaten by Enable several times in her career (notably at the Churchill Downs Breeders’ Cup back in 2018) this could be a great opportunity for revenge and it will be interesting to see the tactics they choose to deploy with Magical.
Right now, you’ll be able to find her trading at a 3/1 ante post price.
Japan is also in the mix here with a solid price of around 6/1 with several top bookmakers and that could wind up being a really interesting each-way selection. If both the top two contenders are ready to roll then Japan might be making a play for the place markets but is still an interesting factor nonetheless.
Sottsass rounds out some of the more plausible contenders here now that it appears as though Serpentine has been withdrawn from consideration for this one. Look for Sottsass anywhere around 7/1 all the way up to 12/1.
