Lexus Chase Set to Run at Leopardstown on Tuesday

We've got a number of contenders in the mix here who already have a Grade 1 victory under their belts and are looking to improve on it by winning this big name fixture. There aren't many coming into this one in a particularly rich vein of form, although a quick glance at the racecard indicates that we've got about five plausible winners in this one.

Pandorama didn't get the start he really wanted for the Noel Meade yard when he got back to a long-awaited debut at Newbury back in late November. He was pulled up on the day, his first race in nearly a year, and he teams up with Pat Carberry again for a crack at the Lexus Chase. His record was exemplary up until his injury after the Knight Frank Novice Chase. He was a terror on the novice circuit and easily took on several contenders who have gone on to win well.

Paul Nolan's Joncol seriously underwhelmed when finishing last at Navan on his seasonal debut. He genuinely needed the race and will be looking to improve here, although he may go off at a high price as a number of punters might be scared off the stinker he ran last time. His form card shows solid performances against proven opposition and it's just a matter of which Joncol shows up today.

We'll be jumping aboard JNwine.com Champion Chase winner THE LISTENER, and he boasts great credibility tackling his preferred distance. He has been facing off against high quality opposition and has shown plenty of form over timber. Racing against the likes of Kauto Star, Denman and the dearly-departed Exotic Dancer has given him plenty of experience and he'll be the one to beat if he jumps well today.
