Gun Runner was originally supposed to enter into the race but a dispute over swabbing and pre-race testing resulted in him being withdrawn as the entry for Ruis Racing. He had been under quarantine for EHV-1 at Fair Grounds and, though he was able to get out of quarantine, the pre-race testing didn't suit his connections since they found it placed their horse under extra levels of duress before the big contest so they decided to opt out.

Gun Runner had previously traded at anywhere from 10/1 all the way up to a 25/1 listing.
Noble Bird is the best shortest priced contender in the race and a few bookmakers have him trading as low as a 14/1 margin but the vast majority have him in the 20/1 corridor. The local oddsmaker has listed him at a 25/1 morning line an it's extremely likely that he will go off at a shorter price than that unless we see some weird moves in the betting pools – possibly a “bridge jump” on California Chrome as is common in races like this with extremely prohibitive favourites in America.
European punters will access to the local American pools will do well to look for value there and play them off of the ante post and fixed odds wagers that will be on offer but for those only in Europe or exchange bettors from New Jersey.
Neolithic is also in the mix with his price tag of as short as a 16/1 margin and goes as high as a 33/1 margin depending on whom you're wagering with.
