One of the other contenders in the mix here is Cupid and he demonstrated a lot of speed earlier this year and certainly looks a talented horse, but he has looked a shade below the cream of this crop when all is set and done. The fact that the bookmakers have him trading at a price as high as a 9/2 margin shows that they have confidence in his ability to turn it all around and really move towards getting a big result here but the simple fact remains that Cupid is likely going to have to conjure up one of his best performances yet if he is going to be a genuine factor here – though one certainly should not rule him out of the wider exotics.

Gun Runner returns to the track here and will be looking to deliver on a lot of the promise that he demonstrated during the Triple Crown Trail earlier this season. He has been the definition of a there- or-thereabouts horse for most of the campaign but just hasn't been able to muster up the quality needed to beat out top quality opposition going a mile and a quarter.

Look for Gun Runner to trade around a 7/1 margin, which makes him an interesting each-way shout as he is likely to be a factor in the search for a placing in this race. His ability to stay on, but not so much quicken, towards the finish usually sees him lead for a bit and then hang on to pick up the pieces towards the finish.

Connect is in the mix here with a solid price of about 12/1 while Summer Revolution can be backed at an identical price. Awesome Slew is an interesting outsier and trades around a 14/1 margin for the win here alongside Sunny Ridge. Hit It Once More can be backed at a 20/1 margin while Derby wiseguy horse My Man Sam is a lengthy 33/1 price tag.

Wild About Deb, which sounds exactly like a horse that should run at Parx, trades at 33/1 while Discreet Lover brings up the rear at 100/1.
