Prince of Wales Stakes Field Cut Down to Seven

One of the biggest stories in the build-up to the 2011 Royal Ascot meeting has been the presence of Australian shipper So You Think (High Chaparral) and it appears as though he is scaring off a significant amount of challengers as he looks to build on two big scores at the Curragh.

Now being trained by Aidan O'Brien, the New Zealand-bred bay colt has been beat down to miniscule prices on both of his Irish outings with a 2/13 price in his group 3 debut and a slim 1/7 in the Group 1 Tattersall's Gold Cup with Ryan Moore in the irons.

As it currently stands, So You Think is trading as low as 1/2 for this one and could likely see a price cut before the off as punters begin to pile on in earnest.

There had been a rather star-studded line-up being considered for the Prince of Wales' but some last minute withdrawals by Cape Blanco (Galileo) and Ransom Note (Red Ransom) have made the race just a bit softer. There are still a number of fierce competitors set to dispute this one with prominent Juddmonte globetrotter Twice Over (Observatory) a 10/1 fancy for this prestigious Group 1.

Arlington Million winner Debussy (Diesis) remains in the mix for this one but he has gone off the boil after his dramatic score in America with William Buick up. Godolphin are saddling Rewilding (Tiger Hill) for this one as well but the main challenge to So You Think's claims appears to be Planteur (Danehill Dancer), who has conquered a pair of races at Longchamp this season, going off as the favourite each time. Currently trading as low as 4/1, he boasts a strong finishing kick and will enjoy the softer going if the rain is set to continue.

The Prince of Wales' Stakes anchors the Wednesday card on Day Two of Royal Ascot.
