There’s a whole slate of exciting flat racing ahead of us next week as one of the world’s top meetings is set to kick off. Royal Ascot is back and you can expect plenty of action and excitement as the stands will have punters and fashionistas alike looking to find that elusive winner.

The Coventry stakes looks set for a very deep iteration and it already looks like it could be one of the toughest puzzles of the entire day. Kaufymaker is looming as the 5/1 early favourite but this one looks to be wide open. Castle Star is a solid 6/1 shout and could be able to make an impression with decent conditions underfoot. The Acropolis could pick up the pieces here as well.
Palace Pier dominates the market for the Queen Anne with the bookmakers already going as low as a 4/7 ante post price tag. It’s a tough spot for some of the others here and we will likely see a few defections before final declarations are actually made. Take a look at Order of Australia as one of the only contenders who could possibly hang with Palace Pier over the 1 mile distance.
Battash is always a popular contender and he can be backed as a 9/4 favourite in the King’s Stand Stakes and this is always a very competitive renewal and with only a few furlongs to work with, you pretty much have to run a flawless race or get a few lucky breaks along the way. Liberty Beach could be a cheeky selection.
The St James Palace Stakes is definitely going to be the highlight of the day with the Group 1 clash attracting a deep assortment of 10 furlong specialists. Poetic Flare is the lukewarm 7/2 favourite and faces some stiff competition from the likes of Mostahdef and St Marks Basilica who are trading around 9/2 and 6/1, respectively.
Highland Avenue making an impression would be no surprise and the 7/1 price on offer tells no lies. You’ll find Lucky Vega priced identically but looking perhaps a step behind some of the others here. Chindit remains an interesting outsider at 10/1.
