The step up to 10f has not happened yet and many expect it to either come in his next race or not to come at all this season. There is a logic to not bothering to fix something that isn't broken and, when you have the highest-rated horse on the planet, you can more or less choose your own spots.
Some familiar foes are set to line up against Frankel with the most obvious being his usual pacemaker Bullet Train while Excelebration will take another crack at defeating Frankel. Connections obviously think there is nothing to lose having lost to him a few times earlier.
Stablemates of Excelebration, Windsor Palace and So You Think, maintain entries for the Queen Anne but many observers seem confident that So You Think will be pointed elsewhere. He maintains a co-entry for the Prince of Wales Stakes.
Stan James has opened up Frankel at 1/5 for the 2012 Queen Anne Stakes. Some bookies have him as low as 1/8.
The Queen Anne is one of three Group 1 contests set to unfold on a blockbuster day of racing. The King's Stand Stakes will be one of the most interesting 5f contests you will ever see. A full 25 entries remain at this stage and the handicap looks interesting as well.
Bated Breath is entered in this one along with Amour Propre. Tangerine Trees and Masamah are the other highly-rated entrants for this tricky sprint handicap that is part of the global sprint challenge.
The Group 2 Coventry Stakes for juveniles is one of the more interesting races on the day and a massive field are entered for this one. A number of undefeated colts will line up but one to keep your eye on is 2/2 Sir Prancealot.
The Ascot Stakes and Windsor Castle Stakes round out the rest of the day's action.
