After losing out to Twice Over in the Group 1 Juddmonte International, despite being beat down to a 4/5 price by overzealous punters, Await The Dawn is still awaiting his first top level victory as ante post punters have been sent back to earth. For several months, the impressive Ballydoyle contender has been floated as low as 6/1 for the Breeders' Cup Classic at Churchill Downs – despite never having won at Group 1 level or having run on dirt before.

The lack of dirt experience didn't stop Animal Kingdom from taking the 2011 Kentucky Derby but the loss today, third in a field of five, has seen Bob Baffert's Coil emerge as the new betting favourite with several bookmakers. Betfair punters have priced So You Think as the betting favourite for the 2011 Breeders' Cup Classic.
The complicating factor there is the fact that So You Think isn't going to the Classic and will likely point to races in Australasia. So You think hovers around 8.0.
One-time Kentucky Derby favourite Uncle Mo is still very much in the mix for the Breeders' Cup Classic and you'll find him trading around 9.0.
Several other big American contenders are laying down serious declarations in the coming weeks. They will be looking to join the likes of Game On Dude, Tizway and Coil who have already booked their tickets through the Breeders' Cup Win and You're In Program.
Twirling Candy has shown plenty of acumen in the past, despite coming up short in the Hollywood Gold Cup, and he will certainly be a factor at Churchill Downs. Punters will find him available in the 12.0 neighborhood.
The Queen's colt, Carlton House, is getting some backing and he trades as short as 14.0.
Cape Blanco's big victory in the Arlington Million put him on the radar screen for the classic though he may opt for the Breeders' Cup Turf.
Expect a few more wild swings in the Breeders' Cup Classic ante post markets in the coming weeks as several major Grade 1 contests are set to unfold stateside.
