Key Cheltenham Triumph Hurdle Prep at Kempton

Several of the leading fancies for the 2012 JCB Triumph Hurdle are set to clash in one of the last big prep races prior to the 2012 Cheltenham Festival. There is a lot to like about each of these contenders and punters can expect some competitive prices and more than a few thrills and chills as this lot battle it out for hurdling supremacy.

The Grade 2 Adonis Hurdle has proven to be the reference race for the past two years as both Soldatino and Zarkandar went on to score at Cheltenham in the JCB Triumph Hurdle.

A number of the stand-out 2m1f specialists will be lining up for this one with Sadler's Risk being the major contender as we head into the race. At the time of this writing, he is competitive for the ante post favourites position next to Minsk – who is skipping this one.

Sadler's Risk rose to prominence when capturing a juvenile hurdle contest at Kempton when sent off at an even money price. Philip Hobbs is taking a fair amount of money to emerge as top trainer and could wind up getting the score with this talented four-year-old.

The Nicholls yard, which has been quiet as of late, saddles Dildar for this one who scored when he got Ruby for the first time in his novice hurdle debut. He ran at listed level on the flat in France and could kick on well to surprise in this one.

Baby Mix didn't like Cheltenham the last time he was out there but scored in his previous effort back in December when priced at 14/1. A full 27 lengths off the pace last time, he certainly taught punters a lesson as he'd been beat down to a 7/4 joint favourite.

Nicky Henderson's lightly-raced Une Artiste enters off four scores in a row while Grumeti also deserves respect and has won at Cheltenham. It should be noted that he fell at Newbury in his previous ride there.
