Camelot has long been considered the prohibitive favourite in the ante posts markets for the 2012 iteration of the 2000 Guineas. With just a few days to go before the de facto kick off of the Classic season, Camelot now trades at an 11/8 price tag with most major bookmakers – and looks certain to take even more money on the day.

Camelot is set for his seasonal debut in this one and that adds an element of spice to it as he'll be facing a number of contenders who've already had a few outings this season and are bang in-form. He's won twice, both backed down to odds on, with a maiden score at Leopardstown followed up four months later by a Grade 1 victory in the Racing Post Trophy.
That gap between races should give plenty of confidence to the punters that he can handle long times on the shelf but you do have to wonder how he's going to fare with a six month break. Surely he will have put on some significant mass and, truth be told, there really hasn't been any negative feedback coming out of the O'Brien yard for this one either.
Expect an odds-on price should Camelot continue on his current course.
Several high-profile yards have entries here looking to beat Camelot with Juddmonte bringing in the mysterious Top Offer, who has only been on track once but has been bet down to 8/1 ante post.
Godolphin hold a duel entry with Mahmood Al Zarooni boasting a pair of contenders in Mandeaen and Mighty Ambition. Neither is taking a significant amount of money with 33/1 and 50/1 prices listed on the pair of them.
Power gets the other O'Brien entry and he'll be looking to flash some of that form he showed last year when winning the Group 1 Goffs National Stakes. He had captured a Group 2 at Ascot prior to that. Power is out to 14/1 now having been as low as 8/1 during the ante post market.
