We're just about two weeks away from the final major English Classic of the year – a true test of staing ability in the St Leger at Doncaster. Contenders will be going a full 1m6f32y and there are a number of exciting contenders set to tangle in this one, with recent standout Nathaniel being the only high-profile withdrawal in recent days.

The John Gosden-trained three-year-old son of Galileo is said to be pointing towards British Champions Day with a possible kick at the Breeders' Cup can in Kentucky. His smashing victory in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes certainly vaulted him to the upper echelons of his graduating class.
Sir Michael Stoute's lightly-raced three-yer-old Sea Moon is being beat down to a very short price after scoring a dramatic victory in the Great Voltigeur Stakes at York. Anotehr standout in the Juddmonte yard, he comes from relatively low-profile sire Beat Hollow but looks every bit the picture as he moves forward off the handicap circuit.
Godolphin's Blue Bunting is a major threat here and represents the current trend of fillies running against colts and even older horses. Also emerging off of a big victory at the York Ebor, she conquered the Darley Yorkshire Oaks by 3/4's of a length. Previously, she triumphed at the Curragh over Banimpire who is set to show up for this one as well.
The Mahmood Al Zarooni-trained grey or roan filly is by Dynaformer.
Michael Owen's colt Brown Panther had an unsuccessful tilt at the German Derby and now looks set to finally prove himself over the longer distance that he looks a bit more keen for. Though he gets a bit more attention than he deserves because of his connections, his recent second-place finish in a Group 3 encounter at Newbury over 1m5f puts him in the mix for this one and he is definitely not out of the picture from a ratings standpoint.
The dark horse to keep your eye on here looks to be the three-year-old son of Shamardal, French Navy, who lines up for Godolphin. This Darley-bred has only raced five times and only once this year – a winning three-year-old debut at Newmarket over the respected Joshua Tree.
