Sibling Rivalry At Stake in the Grand National

This year's steeplechasing showpiece is shaping up to be another excellent iteration but there's a fascinating plotline developing as two pairs of brothers and sister are set to contest the epic two circuits around the National course.
The overall complexion of the Grand National will be altered slightly this year with adjustments being made to the landings on fences 1 and 6 while fence 4 has been actually been lowered by a two-inch margin.

Ruby Walsh is going great guns at the moment but he'll be taking on sister Kate in the Aintree main event while Paul and Nina Carberry are also set to do battle over the 4m4f course. Ruby has won a pair of Nationals and is set to pilot On His Own while Paul Carberry, who scored in the National in 1999, is set to take the irons on the well-fancied Chicago Grey.
Katie Walsh gets a very interesting mount in Seabass, who enters the race in an extremely rich vein of form. Organizedconfusion, an apt description for the National itself, will be under Nina Carberry.
Needless to say, wherever there is a bit of competition, the bookmakers will be floating some odds so punters can stake their bets on the sisters to get the best of the brothers.
As it currently stands, Ruby Walsh is priced at 1/2 to finish above Katie – who is available at a relatively tempting 6/4 price. Paul Carberry is 4/7 to finish ahead of sister Nina, who can be had at a 5/4 price.
There is likely a years worth of bragging rights and, quite possibly, first go at the Christmas turkey up for grabs in two households.
