This presents an interesting challenge as Frankie Dettori is expected to run earlier in the day at Haydock Park, where he has the mount on Delegator in the Betfred Sprint, and then jet in to Ireland right after leaving the winners circle for the mount on fab filly Snow Fairy.
The multiple Group 1 winning globetrotting female has been withdrawn from several recent contests due to connections not liking the going in addition to a mix-up where she was entered in a French race too quickly after being withdrawn from another one.
Ed Dunlop speculated that the Dettori ride was not 100% confirmed and the words “hopeful... fairly confident” were thrown around. She was a disappointing fourth in the Coral Eclipse on her seasonal debut but then improved with Dettori taking the mount for the first time to finish two lengths behind in the impressive Midday in the Group 1 Nassau Stakes.
The impressive four-year-old daughter of Intikhab is enjoying plenty of attention in the build-up to this one, aided by the credibility she established when besting the field in her two previous Asian sojourns.
So You Think remains pointed at this contest and he is being beaten down as low as 2/7 for the Leopardstown feature on September 3rd. Snow Fairy is firm second favourite at a 5/1 price – the only contender in a six-horse field trading at single digits.
Expect a real run from Famous Name and Roderic O'Connor – both of whom are keen to prove themselves ahead of the upcoming business end of the European flat racing season.
