Blue Bunting Pointed Towards Sheema Classic Campaign

One of the biggest stories from last year's fillies circuit was Godolphin's intrepid Blue Bunting and she's back for her seasonal debut at the 2012 Dubai Racing Carnival. You can expect plenty of expectations for this grey filly, one of the jewel's in Sheikh Al Maktoum's trophy room.

Representing one of the best contenders that Mahmood Al-Zarooni has trained up to this point, it appears as though Blue Bunting will be pointed towards the 2012 Dubai Sheema Classic, which Al Zarooni won last year with the ill-fated Rewilding.
Towards the end of her 2011 campaign, Blue Bunting was being raced at a genuine staying distance in the St Leger, where she managed a sixth place finish. Having taken three Group 1 victories in her brief career, she strung together back to back victories in the build-up to her 1000 Guineas score – which came at a hefty 16/1 in front of an electric crowd at Newmarket.
The switch over to Frankie Dettori paid dividends and it was his first time in the irons having taken the reigns from Ahmed Ajtebi.
Blue Bunting was rated at 116, a career-high, following her off-the-board finish to Masked Marvel in the St Leger.
Other Godolphin charges being prepped for Carnival runs include the likes of Opinion Poll, Casamento, Dubai Prince and French Navy.
