Snow Fairy certainly hasn't been having much luck with her recent entries having been withdrawn from the Yorkshire Oaks at York and the Prix Jean Romanent at Deauville. Connections now have her lined up for a run at the Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown and she will likely get a fair amount of backing.

Trainer Ed Dunlop ran into some trouble with a tricky 8 day entry ban for French horses at the Deauville meeting. Snow Fairy was pulled from the Yorkshire Oaks based on unsuitable going and, under French horse racing rules, she could not be entered at Deauville because it was inside an 8 day window of being withdrawn from another race.
The connections had been facing a serious lack of proper group races for fillies and are opting for the September 3 contest where Snow Fairy could wind up facing off against first-class contender So You Think.
Speaking to the Racing Post, Dunlop declared that a few question marks still remained over the filly's presence at Leopardstown. “It will depend on the ground whether we run. We know she will have no problems with the travelling.”
Snow Fairy has the distinction of having been purchased for a very small sum of money and has gone on to earn big purses in all four corners of the globe.
A veritable who's who of top class contenders remain in the mix here with the likes of Await The Dawm, Casamento, Fame and Flory, Jan Vermeer, Rio De La Plata, and the aforementioned So You Think all carrying entries at the moment.
St Nicholas Abbey is also in the mix for this one along with Treasure Beach. There are still several declaration stages still to come and you will see the likes of Cape Blanco and a few others withdrawn for sure at this point.
Odds are still yet to be posted, but Snow Fairy's presence definitely adds some spice to this year's Irish Champion Stakes.
