Solid Seven to Contest UAE 1000 Guineas at Meydan

A very interesting contest for three-year-old and four-year-old fillies is set to run this Friday at Meydan racecourse as the UAE 1000 Guineas is set for its latest iteration. An accomplished group of seven females are set to contest this one with just a single contender running at the age of four. In this case, it's the South African campaigned Moon Spun, a daughter of Black Minnaloushe.

She comes into this one on a seasonal debut following a tough beat back in May when stepping up to Group 2 level only to lose by a slim head when sent off at 16/1.
Moon Spun will be the only runner carrying the 9-5 weight.
Mary Fildes lines up for her English-based connections and has the benefit of a prep race in Dubai already this year. It didn't go exactly according to plan as she came in third from six in the UAE 1000 Guineas trial.
She hasn't exactly strung together the most impressive record with just one win in seven attempts but she has hit the board a number of times and could be set to progress here.
Alsindi was also in that same 1000 Guineas trial and finished second by about three lengths or so. She had taken a fair amount of money on the day and came out of the gate at a 3/1 listing. She's a Group 3 winner at Newmarket and will have improved with the race under her belt, acquitting herself well in Dubai's sunnier climes.
Colorful Notion ships in from Lingfield after a stint on the English all-weather circuit. She will likely go off at a very lengthy price with some forgettable recent performances and no attempts at a stakes run yet. This is a major step up in grade for Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan's daughter of Danehill Dancer.
Bonne Idee doesn't exactly inspire much either considering she's winless since her maiden score. She's shipped around France quite a bit but has taken money nearly every time. Something was genuinely off with her during her last attempt at Abu Dhabi when she came in dead last 48 lengths off the pace.
The Godolphin pairing of Gamilati and Pimpernel look to be the aces up your sleeves. Gamilati, an impressive daughter of Bernardini, won the trial for this race and looks extremely sharp at Meydan. She will get Dettori for this one and has the benefit of Pimpernel's presence. She will likely go off as the rabbit and ensure that Gamilati will get an honest pace. Pimpernel herself has the ability to win this race on her own but you get the feeling that the Blue Team is setting this one up for Gamilati.
